Anybody know what the approximate value of this rifle might be? It is all original with matching numbers and accessories. Need a second opinion...96682

What make is the scope, unertyl, redfield, weaver etc. I would think between 1000 to 1300

would really need to see it in person, but a bunch of up close detailed pictures would help. if its truly an original correct USMC 1903 sniper rifle, you are looking at $2500+.

The first thing I notice is the stock looks like a Scant stock instead of a C-stock, so if the shadow of the pictures are not fooling me, it's not an original, as originals came with C-stocks. That makes it a built up rifle of some kind. So it's more a sum of it's parts, rather than the value of a package. To me and I'm NOT a collector, but a shooter, a 1903 is worth more than an 03 that's been modified to replicate a sniper. But you have there a 1903 Springfield in a Scant stock and a scope that looks like a Unertl.

I was curious about the scant stock on this one. This is one of five that came from my fathers estate that he left to me. The scope is a Unertl. What confuses me is that the stock is properly stamped with the metal's serial number. The other four are correct with the same style of optics and the C-stock. All but this one date to the 1943 to 1945 period and are Army 'U.S.' marked. This one dates to Korea and is marked with USMC stamping.

The other issue I have with this rifle is the fact that all the work appears to be Armory. Not done for looks, but for utility. The work is obviously aged. I wonder if this was a modification done In-Country.

My point being, stocks got broken in combat. They were typically replaced with whatever was at hand.

the scant stock could be right. those rifles were built up for korea. they used what they had no new parts were made. if it checks out I would say some where on the up side of $4,000.

Until it can be examined by a qualified Springfield expert to prove it is all original, I would hazard a guess of $2500+.Robert
