Never mind, decided to just put the $$ in a MADE IN THE USA mold that the Specs. are listed in the drawings for the GB
.
.
I have a 6 cavity brass mold that is (+ -) .0025 undersized. I've tried "beagleing" with one then both sides with tape, and end up with castings .003 out of round. An H&I die will take care of the bands BUT there still is the nose.
I'm thinking about sending it to Eric to have two cavities opened up and a .220 D D band put into the nose.
Logic would say do cavities 3 & 4 thus leaving # 1&2 and # 5 & 6 open for equal heat
?????

open them all or you won't be able to keep the mold hot enough to cast well with.

It sounds like the mold needs a one-way trip to a gun show.

A brass 6-cavity would certainly be good for building up forearm strength ! :)

What brand and caliber is your mold? Photos?

Please bear with me.
I am old and I am curious.
I don't catch on real quick.
I have used Erik several times.
I would trust him with my last mold.

I don't understand why you would want to convert a six cavity mold into a two cavity mold with four extra "holes"
Why not open them all?
