http://www.imrpowder.com/

Has anyone tried to use this site lately for loading data on any rifle or handgun cartridge.

If you put in 2 or 3 bullet weights and say IMR and Hodgdon for powders and then select a powder from each the data fills the whole screen and I have to scroll back and forth and up and down to see any of the data listed for each combination. When I scroll left and right it starts to go back and forth all on its own.

Their old site was very easy to use but this new site is something else.

I am using Windows XP and maybe it is better on a newer browser to which I am not willing upgrade.

It appears to be all the same data and all the same views with a new user interface. My first opinion of the new site is that it is neither better nor worse than the old one, just different. With that said, I must admit a preference for the old site, but probably only because I was comfortable with it.

Take care, Tom

I just checked it and had no trouble such as you describe. I use Chrome under XP.

Just checked it out. I like it.
Works well with Firefox and Windows 7.

They must have just rolled it out, the old site was up last night. It seems to work good for me, check the zoom setting on your browser.

I'm glad I printed out my loads for 243wssm because there gone now using 4350 they show H4350 only.

The new site is designed for mobile/tablet first, desktop second. Has a nice side scroll with multiple results, but the stops are a bit off. Overall it is a major improvement for use at a reloading bench as I can reference it from my phone or tablet a lot easier. Once you learn where the switch is in the navigation to change from Pistol to Rifle, etc, it is quite good. From a UI perspective, it looks like the main persona was:
"Over 40, likely a glasses wearer who is wearing safety glasses instead of his prescription lenses."

I give them a thumbs up over the old table that you had to pinch zoom and scroll.

If you are on XP, I would really recommend a switch to Chrome or Firefox. It'll change your life.

Huh. I just used the old site either last night or earlier this morning.

I may end up liking this one better. FWIW I still see Winchester powders.

Looks fine to me. Much easier to read than the old format.

I always hate change it seems, but this is an exception, i really like this change! I was there last night also checking some data and have used it a ton in the past, I really like the new stuff.

Because honestly, when you are researching a new load you are not doing it for 3000 bullet weights at the same time, you are going there usually with 1. great new change.

I tried to access 220 Swift and 480 Ruger info and the screen would not scroll on either. I tried again in about an hour with the same results.

I just tried the 220 Swift and it gave me 100 loads.
The 480 Ruger in pistol gave me 40 loads.
Maybe they are still working the kinks out.

Last night I printed the reduced load data for .308 and 300BLK, good thing I did as now it's not available!

Well; I'll swear I was on it unchanged this morning but it sure has changed now. I just did a quick check but it looks easier to use to me. I thought that the old site could be confusing (change caliber but nothing changed until you hit "get data"). I give it a two thumbs up!

Wow, I don't really like it. It does load a little faster. But side scroll sucks. I like being able to look at everything at once. This is eliminated w/ the new format on an iPhone. No pinch to zoom sucks as well. I have this same issue w/ all the mobile optimized formats. I'd like to be able to view the entire load w/out scrolling down to see the charges. I feel it's a downgrade for me. Not being able to zoom in and out really bothers me.

I like the "email data" feature.

I tried the "Email Data" feature. All it does is send a link that takes me back to the website. If it sent a text file containing the data, that would be valuable.

Well I guess I sorta of like it. I have to hit control (minus) – and it shrinks the data down to a no left or right scroll screen but I still have to use the up and down scroll. This is with selecting 3 bullet weights and win and Hodgdon as powders and then selecting 231 tightgroup and hs6

It took out the 400 gr. cast loads in 480 Ruger. Boo! Good thing Glenn Fryxll and I know what it is.

I just tried it and it seemed fine to me, no side scrolling.... My only issues is they dont have load data for the 6.5x57 (the only data I can find is in an old 1980 Hornady load book) and they dont have the bullet weights for the Hornady SST's for the 7mm Mag... They are using Noslers for load data. I guess I will have to purchase the newest Hornady book to get load information for the SST's
