Pacific Dies

I have friend that gave me some Pacific dies and a press that look in good shape some have not been used can some one tell me if these are good dies Thanks

Pacific was bought out by Hornady, The dies you have are likely Dura-chrome. They should serve you and other generations to come well.

Yes indeed, very good dies. My only single stage press (and still used regularly) is my original Pacific Multi-C purchased in 1981. Also, I bought Durachrome dies for all the calibers I was loading at the time (8) and those too are still used regularly. As a matter of fact, I've never loaded my 30-06 or .35 Rem on any other. I always keep my eye out at gun shows for more.

Pacific makes very good dies, and a few bad ones. The same can be said of every die maker.

Pacific Durachrome dies are good and long lasting. All the ones I have bought or sold were non carbide- but they were still in good shape and serviceable.

I have a couple of Pacific dies and have not had any problems with either one.

I use Pacific dies with my older loading presses and haven't had any problems, they work as good as most.

They are good dies, and the Pacific presses are good presses. I loaded exclusively with a Pacific "Super Tool" for many years, and made very accurate ammo with it. My dad bought the press used in about 1964. It was an expensive press in it's day.

Pacific dies are excellent with the exception of those for 7.65 Mauser.

I have a number of the Duro Chrome dies and they are very good. I have a Pacific progressive shotshell press that is the grand daddy to the Hornady 366 that loads the best looking shotshell of any of my reloaders.

I miss Durachrome Dies. I remember when everybody plated their dies, now I don't believe anybody does anymore. I've had plenty of Durachrome carbide handgun dies too. Great stuff!

I have used them and they are top notch. The silver finish on them looks real good!

Not all Pacific dies are the Dura-Chrome type. The early ones were not chrome plated. Over the last 50+ years, I have owned non-plated Pacific dies in 30-06, 8x57, and 6.5x55. They loaded excellent ammo. I owned a set of .38 special/.357 magnum Dura-Chrome carbide dies and they also loaded excellent ammo. I liked Pacific equipment and was sorry to see them dissolve under Hornady. my experience anyway.
