Hello every one i am new to the site and to loading cast bullets for 7.62x39 rifle . i have casted bullets for pistols for 40 years . i just bought a lee 155gain mold 3.12 dia with a gas check . i am looking for a load with hodgon powder h322. the load data from them states 150 gr jdu s[ jacketed bullets but no lead. i called hodgdon but he didn't want to help me any . so the starting gains for the 150 gains jacket bullet is 27.0 for h322 can i lower the powder weight by 10% to start with . thanks for anyones help. shooting with a mini 30. thanks steve

Sounds like a good plan to me. I do shoot that powder and it works well with your choice of bullet in both a Saiga and a CZ 527. The CZ can take quite a bit more pressure than the Saiga.

With that boolit and powder, start at 1.6 cc's using a dipper or the perfect Powder Measure, etc., and work up to 1.8 cc's. That is the load that my Yugo SKS likes. Clean cycling, and doesn't throw brass too far. Any more powder than 1.8 cc's, and the case gets too full. In my case, the boolit sits on top of the powder at the right height for the crimp groove.
