Ed's pink?

making a batch of Ed's red gun bore cleaner, never had done so, but, the only varsol i had was mineral spirits which was some oder free save the tree stuff, well I poured it, mid stream I realized its like milk haha turned the red, pink.
who here would still use it or make a new batch?

I heard the milk stuff is total garbage. I have some waiting to be mixed, and I haven't gotten back to the store to get a good non tree friendly spirit.

I would suggest trying it if it's already got every component, but just know its not that effective. The tree friendly is a water base and the other good stuff is oil based so I've read. If you go back to the store, same brand of the spirit makes the good stuff, in metal cans apparently right next to the plastic ones

I think I have some of the good stuff around here some where, I can save the oil based because un agitated the mix separates the milky spirits

If that batch has water mixed in it, I sure would NOT put it on my firearms. Just makes for more cleaning you have to do to get the water off.

Use the water-based stuff for cleaning after milsurp corrosive primers and blackpowder.

Add a bit of Dawn or Ivory Liquid dish washing detergent to help it emulsify in the water. Then shake it up before use to mix and it will work just fine.
