Does anyone use this mold in their gun? Still new to casting but the 9mm lee TC mold gave good results. I will be shooting this in a sig 226. With this being my first attempt to cast .40, is there a prefered sizing die to get? Thanks for the help and opinions. I was looking at the Lee 401-175TC 2 cavity mold.

It's a good design that shoots accurately. Sizing diameter heavily depends on your firearm's barrel groove diameter. .402 is what my 6 cavity drops them at as cast and I size to .4015 for a .4005 barrel.

Excellent mold. Buy the 6-banger. I didnt, and really regret it. My Glocks love this bullet, as did my Sig 229. Accurate in both. This is "the" bullet alot are powder coating too, with excellent results. You wont shoot anything else; you wont need to.

It would be fine if it is the right size. Mine drops at .4005. Much too small for my guns.

Great boolit.
Shoots well in every 40 I have tried it in.
I cast with my generic #2 alloy.
My 6 cav is one of the best casting molds I own.
I have SEVERAL brands of molds including H&G.
Not saying it casts better than my H&Gs, just very good.....dale

I'm sure you've slugged your barrel. That said make sure that whatever dies you use they expand adequately. 40s&w brass is pretty stiff and if not expanded enough the bullets will swage down when seated. Ask me how I know...seat a couple properly casted/sized boolits and pull them and recheck their size. If they have swaged down you need a different expander and possibly harder alloy. ACWW doesn't seem to be hard enough but WCWW works for me. I hear that mold works great but Lee molds generally seem to be hot or miss as to quality control.

Shoots great in my PPS sized to .401, I have the six banger and it cast fast and good.

I have owned a 6 cavity version of this bullet mold and it has been a good one. Sized to .401 on a Lyman 4500, using a good lube and clean range lead, it has been a great performer in my friend's Glock 23( with Wolf barrel) and my brother's Sig 229.

I did get the 410-175-TC 6 banger and am very glad I did. You can cast up a lot of good boolits in very little time with the 6 cavity molds. I tumble lube them in 45/45/10 and load 'em up in my M&P40. Hint: if you want to tumble lube, use a 1 gallon ziplock freezer bag. You can do close to 500 at a time and you don't bang them up so bad. Just massage them in the bag and the lube spreads around very nicely.

I use it for 10mm and love it as a plinker. I have the 6 cavity and size it to .401

Has anyone tried these in a CZ-75?

Was my first mold. Love it. Cast great bullets from the first drop. Me and my dad have Glock 22's so we go through quite a few of these.

Just cast around 500 yesterday with a double cavity. I cast them hard, size 401 with Carnauba Red. Run them over 4.4 gr HP-38. Works great in SR-40 and Shield.

I have this mold but not real crazy about the bevel base. Has anyone removed the bevel? I was thinking of just taking a smooth file to it.

It's a good mold and when you wear it out the replacement one is cheep. I removed the BB on mine - leave it there and learn to cast good bases.

I don`t like BB molds myself.
But, I use NRA 50/50 lube. Sticky stuff.
It wipes off the bottom of these boolits as easily as a flat base boolit.
This mold casts so well I bought the 9mm TC mold in 6 cav 120 gr.
It works as well as the 40 175gr.
The BB cleans up just as easily ......dale

My mould does not have a bevel base. Sizing is easy clean. My 45 however is bevel based.

Good excuse to try powder coating. :) Or sell to someone who does...

BTW those are 175's for my .40 in my avatar pic.
