Three hoglegs. Model 29, Model 686, Model 17.

I refer to them as the "Three Little Pigs."

All I need is a Model 57 to make it four hoglegs and a complete hog.

All three of them are a joy to shoot.

Nice set of handguns ! looking at them reminded me of my past collection of 8 3/8 barrels S&W revolvers
Years ago in the 1970 i had S&W 8 3/8 " barrel fever , a model 17 ,48, 53, 14, 27, 57, 25, 29, the 48 and 53 had factory 22lr cylinders. all are gone now. since, i have replaced some in stainless and with shorter barrels .

Nice, I have a 686 just like yours, but with factory wood grips. Very nice trio.

If you got #4 a bit shorter ... It would run only hobble, and be easier to catch!

Nice looking trio! Like the 686!

Nice trio. I don't own any long Smiths, but I admit I am beginning to hanker for one. All of mine are 6 or 6 1/2 inch, plus one lone 4 incher. I think an 8 3/8 inch Model 27 would be nice, or maybe a K38 Masterpiece. Oh well, maybe some day!

Hog Leg (pronounced Hog laig) is an old west slang word for a large revolver.

It refers to the shape which mimics the shape of the hog's hind leg.\\see:
