No, not in the category of some of the spectacular work I've seen here, but thought they came out well for a utilitarian project. A buddy of mine invited me over to see his new shotshell reloading equipment. On his bench were some bins that the supplier had talked him into buying- for $12 he'd gotten a couple of cardboard boxes. Now, how can you reload and enjoy it with a pair of expensive, ugly cardboard boxes staring you in the face?????

I liked the idea of them, but if you have to look at something it might as well be nice to look at. So built a pair for me and a pair for him. All the wood came out of the salvage pile, Winchester Super Speed Knobs, and an old shell box laminated on. Better than cardboard boxes anyway....

Nice work! Wish I had bench space for a couple of those. My hulls and wads have to stay in cardboard boxes in storage till used.

Good Job.

Looks like a good way to pick up a little extra money.

Mahogany scrap, the plywood is from an old dresser that I pulled out of the dump. I'd not thought about making them to sell, if I ever get caught up in the shop I may make a few and see if people are interested.

Thanks for the compliments.

Them are nice, a lot better than the empty cat litter buckets I use.(they do stack well)

Definitely a nice job. I use plastic bins but only because I haven't seen any like yours to buy or had time to make some.

It is all about making your space nicer.

All my wads have to stay in their plastic bags. When loading, they balance on the chair wile I stand. I need to get things rearranged and build a few boxes like that for the bench.

Really like the brass for knobs.

Thanks AnyCal, the RSO at the range saves me any old shot-shells that are turned in. I use them for knobs and refrigerator magnets. Last year a guy turned in a bag of old shells that had a couple of New Rivals in it from the '20's... neat stuff!!

Might I suggest a counter sunk screw for the knob's?

Oval head screws look the best, but I'm always digging around in coffee cans using up junk that has accumulated over the years- hence the round head screws. Pack-ratism strikes again....

Wow those are nice! I might have to make something like that. Nothing wrong with being frugal and saving things for future projects. My friends all laugh because I'll dumpster dive in a minute. But when they need something fixed I'm the first guy they call.

Love the shotgun shell knobs. I can think of several possible places to use something like that.
