A question on the software program QuickLoad: We all know that the internal ballistics of lead versus copper boolits are different (everything else being equal)so I was wondering if Quickload has a way to account for this?

Yes it does. There is a setting to compensate for the needed engraving force. One of the selections is lead.

Yes,also is related to starting pressure.
for jacketed bullets strating prssure is 3600+ for lead it is closer to 1600psi.

Where is this? I've been playing around with a Lyman #378674 for the 375 H&H in the program but they haven't come even remotely close to the #48 manual. This program is very complicated.

If Quickload seems very complicated it is only because you are new to it. Once you are familiar everthing seems quite natural. Like learning to ride a bicycle.

Been a month and still lost. The bullet database is pathetic. LFAD came with 500x the amount of bullets and cost 1/3 of the price.

I have found that Quickload tends to be eerily accurate for cast bullet load velocities from 400 fps to 2700 fps. Not infrequently it will be within +/- 1 to 3 fps of the chrono's velocity. This applies pretty much across the board, and extends far into the jacketed bullet realm as well. Possibly the best $150 I ever spent. Saves me a lot of time and powder.

So what's your secret to making this program work, especially with lead?
