Got her home today and all slugged and measured.
Groove is .4575" My mold is dropping range lead @ .461~.
Size them or shoot'em, and how many grooves are you
smokeless guys filling on the Lee 459-405HB?
Them grooves is purdy big!
Lube intention is Carnuba Red,
or if it might work 45-45-10 tumbled lubed?

I use SPG for my Gould bullets as plain base. Works with lower velocity loads nicely and can be used with bp that way. Gotta see some pics of the beauty!

I use the 450gr version, and my mold also casts them at .461". I say lube em and shoot unsized, as that is what my rifle prefers.

tackle-
This has a really nice piece(s) of wood, and it is very obvious they spend a bit more time on these
than they do on the run of the mill Handis. The barrel fits great, locks tight, wood fit is better, trigger is better.
The only thing I'm a little disappointed in is the rear sight. Realizing it is a Wiliams and not of their doing,
its a bit "cheap". I'm searching for a used Buffington sight from a trapdoor as they will screw right on with no mods.
If I cant find one, when funds allow, I'll get the Smith long range sight for the rear.
I hope it warms up soon!
Side note; I had to try, I swapped my 7mm08 barrel on the Buff frame to see how it fits- its PERFECT!
Way better than the Handi frame I had to monkey with excessively to make it shoot

I would be interested in hearing how you deal with the stock sights. This is the one thing that is holding me back from buying one of these. I am wondering how hard it would be to fit a Tang to one.

Bohica793,
go to Graybeard outdoors site, there is a dedicated H&R forum and there is FAQ that
has all you want to know about long rang sights for the Buffalo Classic.
There is a really nice Buffington sight on ebay but they want 250 bucks for it [smilie=1:

Here's one from Brownells

Excellent! My wood on mine is pretty good too. Think your's is a bit deeper in color though. ;) I'm still shopping rear sights too. The Williams actually moved to the .45 Colt for now. lol

Check out Skinner Sights. They are a modern aperture sight, but are machined of steel and look immensely better than the Williams.

Yep, skinner's are sure nice, but I need many more MOA of adjustment for what I want. I really want a smith barrel sight, but I have a hard time paying $160 for a sight. lol I'm planning on doing skinner's H&R sight for my .45 Colt Carbine and my .30-40 Krag Carbine when money allows. 8)

Skinners are nice, but not long range ability.
