Can 9mm casings be converted to .380 auto? Well, nevermind.....a Sierra bullet technician just returned my call and said NO. He has a "wildcat" book that covers everything from A to Z and the conversion is not recommended. OH Well.....

from wikipedia
.380 Auto
Base diameter .374 in (9.5 mm)
Rim diameter .374 in (9.5 mm)
9mm Luger
Base diameter 9.93 mm (0.391 in)
Rim diameter 9.96 mm (0.392 in)
That should answer your question

380 brass is fairly easy to find. I find more of it then I do 9mm anyway.

223 is a little thick at the base, but it can be made to work.

Yep, the guy said that .222 and .223 could be a wildcat for .380.
