I bought a bunch of cast 50-70 lubed for smokeless, can they be used for black.
I've heard they really cake up the barrel when used with black powder and it's really hard to clean the barrel.

Clean the lube off and replace with a good BP lube. Hot water will remove that smokless lube.

I guess it would depend on what the lube is actually made from, but judging by what's in a lot of the recipes I see here I wouldn't want to risk it. BP doesn't mix well with petroleum products in particular and you could end up with a pretty gunked-up barrel!

Simmered some gifted boolits to get this brownish-orange lube off. When the water cooled, the floating lube lifted right out of the pan. SWMBO was never the wiser. ;)
