I have a Lyman; I think they make the only readily available and affordable one.

As to how accurate it is, I can't say. I am not going to pay to have it calibrated; this ain't rocket science.

Repeatability is equally or more important than accuracy. Test it with boiling water and a pure lead melt temp if you are concerned. Write down the inaccuracies and err on them if you are concerned about zinc. If zinc isn't present then just keep things the same every time whether it is accurate to 10 degrees F or not. Gianni

Aw, you just need a way to duplicate whatever temperature your mould likes.
Fiddle with the thermostat until things are workin' good, then...

Spit in your pot and see how high the snot pops.

Mine is an RCBS. Have not had a lick of trouble with it. Pay the extra $13 over the Lyman

I had heard of trouble with the Lyman model as well as mediocre response from the customer service Dept.:( I have had nothing short of exceptional customer service from RCBS on any of there products. I went with RCBS for that reason and have not been disappointed.

I paid the extra to get a RCBS. They have a much better customer service department.
