Getting toward the final stages of packing for our pending move North to Montana. SWMBO was just digging through some assorted stuff and tripped across 4 - 525 bulk boxes of Remington .22 ammo. We were buying regularly a few years ago, and some how this bag of it never made it to the shelves with the rest of our inventory! I told her to go dig up some more! She likes to shoot too, so she heartily agreed and went back to digging. Our day just got a little bit brighter! :Fire:

Late S. Texas Christmas for you and the wife. Enjoy your move to Montana out of S Texas Heat.
Like you I found 5 bricks of target 22 a couple of years back in some 30mm mortar cans full of # 7 1/2 and #9 shot. Had not been loading much trap and skeet loads and had not been in these rocket boxes. Had to be at least 12 years old, but it all shot well and wish I knew I had several cases stashed back that I could find now.
Actually I have a pretty good reserve stock of rimfire, but it will never be as inexpensive again.

Some folks are just going to call you a hoarder.
I'm glad that you found it though.

Dadgummit, I bet I never get another new ford pickup for 3200 again either, because of this shortage thingy.

One day I was visiting with my folks, and my dad said he had something for me. It was my old .22 cleaning kit, the one in the red metal box, and there was a full box of .22's inside. I bought that kit back in 1964.

Let's see, 1964. Shoulda been about 55 or 60 cents a box back then. The good old days. GW

When I moved my cold weather emergency gear from my wrecked car to my new truck I decided to wash the blaze orange coveralls that also serve double duty deer hunting. Cleaned out the pockets and got 2 boxes 12 gauge slugs, and a 100 pack of 22lr. No clue why I had the 22lr with unless it was leftover from squirrel hunting late the year before.
