06 to 308

Long long ago in another thread Buckshot let us know about some 06 barrels at GPC of which I bought 2, now my studying of the cartriges tells me that a cut off of around 1/2'' and a rethread and a finish ream and I should be good for a 308.
Seem about right? With the large ring small thread Turk's I wish I had of bought a new 6.5X55 and 7X57 barrels when they were cheap! Thanks Aaron:confused:

Yes, that should work. I also bought two of those barrels and I am going to do the same thing to one of them.

the dia. if the case at the sholder for a 06 is smaller than the dia. at the sholder of a 308 so you will indeed nead to run a finish reamer in to get it right
