Here is the design for the NP11 Bullet... Been thinking about working up a design based on this for a cast boolit for the Swiss K31

This is suppose to be the original design.. Finally found it....

I am thinking maybe Straighten the bottom of the bullet, and add lube groves???? and a Gas Check?

I was thinking to stay as close to the original weight as possible... Around 175gr.... Without lube and gas check.... I will check out that NOE bullet though...

What weight are you thinking? The Lyman 311644 and 311299 are both stellar performers in my K31s (sized .311" and 200gr w/gc). If you have one of the really tight bored K31s, you might want to look at the NOE K31 boolit.

AlaskanGuy, excess650's advice is excellent. Two additional CB designs, which I found to be stellar performers in
my K-31's were Saeco #315 and the Lee .30cal 180gr. RN GC bullet. Either could be changed to a plain base style rather easily if you have a drill press. Btw, although it doesn't weigh 175grs., the Lee "soupcan", which can also be plain based, was astonishingly accurate as well.

Well, the lee 180's ought to be a great deer boolit from that rifle..... I got the boolits, but no die yet.... Need a redding die badly...

"Need a Redding die badly...." ...AG

AG, I had a set of those dies when I still owned K-31's, but there was nothing on either the FL sizing die or the box that indicated it was for the K-31. Still later I found a "like new" set of CH-4D dies for the 7.5 x 55mm, which sized the brass a trifle more than the Redding. My point is there are other options if you can't find a reasonably priced Redding die set.

I have a die coming... Thanks to a great member here....

If a spitzer is what you're after, the Lyman Ideal 308329/311329 would be pretty close to the bullet you've shown. I've seen a few of the molds with a U stamp on them for undersized, which should make good K31 molds. I had to bump the front band down to .305" in order to get it to work in my K31. Smokem Joe who is no longer with us made the bump die for me. There are others here who could do that though. I have some cast, but haven't fooled with it much as I have an Eagan 168gr bullet that shoots itty bitty 100yd groups. Gotta remember to add that to my list of things to do come spring.

I use the old Ideal 311414 bullet for the Sav 300 in my K-31, Just gascheck and size to .309 and load over 13-14 grs sr4759
with a pinch of Dacron. No playing around with nose sizing dies or oversized bullet noses. I get 1'' groups at 200 yds from my
scoped K-31. This is not a fast load and is used for paper punching only. If pushed too fast the short bearing surface will cause
the group to open up.
