A friend of mine gave me approx. 200 lbs of lead that he used to use to make gasket seals with. He told me that it is a lead / tin mixture but did not know the percentages. He did tell me it was a standard blend. Does anyone have an idea of what mix this could be?

If it is commercial plumbing lead, it probably will have little or no tin in it. Most commercial plumbing lead is 91-99% lead and 1-9% antimony depending on the producer and intended use for the lead.

Carefully measure the density (specific gravity) of a small sample:

If you are confident it is a Lead/Tin alloy all is easy. If it is a Lead/Tin/ Antimony alloy there is a range of possibilities.
