I am very happy. I shot my SBH today with the new lube I talked about in the lube section.
SBH, .44
RD 265 gr
22.5 gr 296
Fed 150 primer
Distance 50 yards from the bench
It is bitter cold, had the devil holding still and the right target shows my movements, trigger was breaking from side to side of the bull.
The left target is my normal summer Felix, two groups with a sight changeI reduced the beeswax for the cold.
The low shot on the center target was the first with the lube change so you can see it only takes one shot and "seasoning" is a myth.
I was having trouble with groups with my normal loads, the RD uses 22 gr in the summer. I tried a Fed 155 and doubled groups, found 1/2 gr more powder is better. 95036

Ranch Dog, he is here somewhere. Had Lee make molds for his design boolits and the right diameters.
He quit and I think it was because Lee screwed up too much.

Thanks, I've heard several guys on the forum talk about those bullets/molds with posative comments.
Never seen you shoot anything that light though, LOL.

I have a 260 gr large meplat mold (Aluminum) that Veral Smith made me for my 44 mag . If you want to borrow it just let me know.

Nice groups! I'd like to get that at 25 yards but also need to spend more times on the range. Scope sights or irons?

I use an Ultra Dot. Best for deer.
I bought the RD when I had the Marlin and it shoots good from my old SBH, not my most accurate revolver though.
The boolit is great for a S&W .44 too.

If you ever get over to shoot, bring the mold and we can cast a bunch.

Let it warm up some more and I will drop you a line making sure you will be there. This cold is really taking a toll on my breathing.

Take care, Changeling.
