My mosin slugs at .312 So if I want to cast for this, would a lee .312 185 gr. mold work for me ?

It should work fine.

****Next noob question - My rifle slugs at .312 I've read that boolits should be at least .002 over. With that said, I purchase a lee mold .312 -185 gr. which should work as stated above. **** But I came across a mold .324-180 gr. Could I resize boolit .324 down to .314 or is that too much to resize down ? I know that I can order custom molds for $100 but money is limited and Lee mold are affordable

Check out Beagling on this forum, it involves putting very thin spacers between the mould blocks to make the bullet just a few .001s bigger. But measure and try shooting, the bullets cast from your mold first, often they do not come out the same size as the mold manafacturer claims.
You are on the right track, useing that measuring tool.

Not that the guys here cant help this fella, but wouldn't he be better off in the main Casting section? Most here smash lead into a jacket..........

I guess the only way to resize properly is to custom order sizing die and boolits mold. Base on the size of your barrel after slugging
