I have a 1 oz mold on order. I want a mild load my lee loader is set up to drop 17.2 grains of clays which is a listed 1 oz shot load
From Hodgdon data
Lead Shot 12 1 oz. Clays Win. 209 WAA12SL 17.2 6,200 LUP 1125

If I replace the shot with a slug and 20 ga nitro card am I good to go with a light recoiling load ??
thanks
Roy

i loaded some with 18.5 grns that were modest recoil and reasonably accurate.

Sounds like a fun plinking and practice load---should work nicely.

NW Ohio forecast isn't too bad tomorrow and Saturday morning, hope you have a chance to get out and test your slugs.

Bit of a thread hijack, but when spring arrives maybe we can hookup and try the 10ga slugs?

Loaded 10 of the load above shot 7 at a target at 25 yards free hand group was less than 4" but 4 slugs where touching in one bunch 3 in the other bunch were touching. if split into 2 seperate groups both would be around 2in. groups 9" high from point of aim these were mild shooting loads .
I loaded 10 more at 18.2 will probly be next weekend before I can shoot them
