I just traded for an unusual SBH which I'm sure was a special run for some wholesaler. By the SN it is a 2011 gun. It is blued, has a 4 5/8" barrel, and a blued steel grip frame and Blackhawk styled oval triggerguard, and the roll stamped model info is filled with white enamel. It sports a rosewood colored laminate set of stocks with the Ruger emblem. It is in near new condition and has less than a box of rounds through it. Fit and finish is very good, especially on the stocks. The weight and balance are going to make for a nice back up gun for hog hunting. All info will be appreciated.

Im guessing model 0813 and the owner placed th enamel themselves for flair.

A standard 4-5/8" barreled 44 mag blued SBH. A fine woods gun.

I have filled in the SN and model info, as well as the Ruger symbol in the rear sight on mine with red enamel nailpolish and it looks pretty good. I suppose a guy could do the same with white.

Thanks for the help, guys. I appears to be an 0813, with the difference being in the stocks and the white enamel. I wasn't aware that it was a cataloged item. I guess I did OK for $450. If I can manage working in the walk in freezer, aka, my shop, tomorrow I'll get some stuff loaded.

I'm hoping to arrive at a load that will be somewhat stout .44 mag in the SBH and not quite max in my new Rossi 92 in the same caliber. I've got one of Steve's Gunz aperture sights on it and I'm hoping for a load good for hogs out to 100 yards in that one. I'll be loading the RCBS 245 SWCGC and the Ranch Dog 260 RNFPGC. All load suggestions will be welcomed.

Sounds like you've got a plan. Let us know how she shoots. For $450, you did fine, IMHO.
