Wondered if anyone here as experience with the RCBS 44-245-SWC in a Ruger Bisley Flattop 44 Special? Is it at any disadvantage to the Lyman 429421? Thank you.

Take your pick ! All three work just fine in the .44 Flattop ! :)

I have two of the 3 Jerry depicts, a 4 cavity 429-421 and a 2 cavity RCBS 44-250 kt. I think there is a slight advantage to the RCBS, but if the difference in group size was your days pay you'd surely starve. Either shoots extremely well from my 4 5/8 Ruger flat top.I mean really well. 6.9 grains of Unique or 5.0 grains of RED Dot are brilliant in my 44 special. They shoot to the limit of my ability, and perhaps a step beyond.

I have the RCBS 245-KT and use it in an original Ruger Flat top, along with the 429421.

My only complaint on the RCBS mould is that it casts an actual .430" in WW alloy, and I like having a slightly larger diameter to suit my 5 other .44 caliber guns.

What mix are you using for alloy? My RCBS molds (245KT & 250K) drop about 7 or 8 grains heavier than the nominal weight. That's using WW + tin @ approx. 12BHN. The KT slugs shoot extremely well with the right handload. I just got the 250K mold and it's way too cold to try to do any accuracy work. I'm going to give your two handloads a try when it warms up. I'm always looking for good (accurate) handloads. I just bought a 5-1/2" Bisley. Also have a couple other .44 Sp.
