The very most right-hand bullet shown in the above list of Ideal bullets is the one listed in my Lyman book. The first three bands are .272 and the last two bands are marked .382. It is marked as being designed by Dr. Hudson and is supposed to be seated ahead of the shell. Also listed as being for 38-55 Schutzen rifles. It is not a gas check bullet either in the above picture or in my book either. It probably would seat in a 375 or a 38-55....at least the two rear bands would. No idea how fast you could push it a it appears to be designed for use with BP. LLS

Looks like the same 375292 on eBay that the seller wants $200 for it ... Good Luck to sell it at that price!

Anyway, Dr Hudson, a famous Schuetzen marksman and friend of Harry Pope, designed the bullet. It is a breech seating bullet - tapered flat base and very accurate in a 38-55 that has a long throat. Hudson also designed the 185gr straight side 319289 bullet for 32-40 rifles. I have both black powder molds.
42-48gr of FFg powder, a good set of eyes and the 375292 will shoot to 500 meters. Hudson used it for the 200yd matches of the era

The best shooting Ideal straight side bullet in a 1:18 twist is the Ideal 375166, 330gr, that calculates to 17.65. This bullet too is very accurate. With 42gr of KIK FFg, I can put down Rams at 500 meters though it's supposed to be a 200yd bullet also
