Bonanza 38-357 FLS E sizing die question

That is how the above die is marked. I sized 10 38 special nickel cases without lube and they sized with the same resistance and no scratching on the cases. I did notice that the die put a minute shoulder 1/2 way in the middle of the case. Would someone know if these dies were made for use without lube? Also like the older RCBS dies, the decapping is done with the expander die. thanks

A Carbide die is the sizing die which does not require lube.

The way to tell if the die is Carbide is look at the entry end. If it looks like a wedding ring is embedded in the end then that is the Carbide ring.

That is what I thought, but I thought it stange that I could size 10 cases with no change in pressure and no scratches on the cases with no lube.
