Someone baba'd the stock for what looks like a scope mount , no magazine , so I'll have to do a little work on er to bring it back , just what I need is another project gun . hehe

I figured for $120.00 it was about the price of a cheap 22 so why not . [smilie=1:

With it being a 30-30 I'll put it in the same class as a lever gun , that being a 100yd. weapon at max for me . And then again it might just be a plinker during the off season . :)

You could use it for a 30-30 wildcat round. lots of them around and you dont have to worry about flat point bullets.

It makes an accurate single shot anyway not matter what ya do for it . :-D

iirc that is a savage 340 and clips should be around thought price is ?????
those holes you might fill them with copper or brass riverts and apoxy if you like or
you could use apoxy and sawdust mixed together

Numerich has magazines listed for the 340 series for around 35 bucks.

Mine shot great for me with cast bullets and a 3x scope. A guy my dad works with wanted it something bad and offered me more then I paid for it.

Numrich has a vast supply of parts for the rifle, including mags.

Been checking around and I think I can get a new stock and mag for around $150.00 with shipping but will be early part of next year before I'll be able to get the items.

Projects , sometime ya got to love em and other times ya just hate em . LOL

Testhop , was looking in the Midway catalog and there is a nice scope mount in it from B-Squared and also shows the stock being relieved on the left side and the receiver drilled and tapped , looks very professional , nothing like the babaed job on this one . hehe

If you need a magazine for it, Jim Wisner on this site makes them. I got a couple from him and they're fine.

I believe it was the guy who makes the magazines said the Ackley Improved won't fit the magazines. I'll have to check as soon as I get my rifle back.

Well I finally got the Stevens slugged and it came out at .3085 to .309 so I'll be trying a boolit at .3105 and if I have to I'll open the sizeing die a bit to get it to
.311 . Will be able to tell better once winter is over and I can get to the range to shoot . :)

It too didn't have a mag. I ordered one from Gun Part Inc. It fit, but I had to tinker with it to get it to feed. Works good now.

I tried some Surplus 4895 in it behind a 311291 about 18-21 grs will get you a good shooting load.

He (12 years old) loves his, hope you like yours as much.
