I just acquired a nice Colt 1917 .45 ACP revolver and I'm thinking this mold would be great for it. I plan to order it to drop at .455 and size at .454. I figure it will be a nice plinker in my .45 Colt lever gun too. Anyone else using it?

I have one in a 5-cavity aluminum purchased for use in 1911's and LOVE it! It feeds great in the 1911's and is far and away the easiest casting mold in the collection. I have not had to tap the handles to get the slugs to drop even ONCE with that mold.

I do, however, consider the bullet to be an autoloader-specific design, though you could probably roll-crimp over the (slight) front driving band for revolver and lever gun applications. In your shoes, I would strongly consider the 45-230X (similar profile with a crimp groove), or the 45-240S and 45-240K (both seeming to be heavily inspired by Keith's 452423 .45ACP / .45 Auto Rim bullet). Somewhat bigger meplats on these three, which I willingly gave up for smoother feeding in the autos - not an issue for you.
