These are the 1911 bb shooting adapters I mentioned on the Gluelett thread. Almost 50yrs ago, as a youth in NYC, I managed to acquire a nice ex-GI Colt 1911. Having nowhere to shoot it without getting jammed up, I fabricated a half dozen of these "adapters", to allow me to practice with it in my home. They were made by soldering two .45acp cartridge cases together, with a brass tube(Ball point pen cartridge) inserted down the middle. Both primer pockets were drilled out so that the tube was a close fit. The front cartridge was cut down to the web and thinned to fit into the mouth of the rear one, and the whole assembly was soldered together, with the solder filling the case around the tube. If I remember, I used #4 shot, this being propelled by the primer. The accuracy was worse than poor, but it was fun to shoot at a target taped to a corrugated box filled with paper.
Amazing what lengths one will go through to get around those draconian gun laws!!

Having long since retired from the PD, and the Statute of Limitations long past, I guess I'm safe in mentioning this legal transgression:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:

that's the most necked down 45acp I've ever seen. I've gotta try it.
as a note, a fella would probably need a universal deprimer rather than a depriming & sizing die.

I used a board with a hole for the primer to fall through, and a finishing nail driven into a piece of broomstick.

That is a good idea Morgan but I used a length of .22 rim fire barrel and a 209 shot gun primer to shoot .22 pellets or .22 air rifle shot.

Just received the adapter from Aneat today. It's a kick in the pants to shoot in the shop ( out of the snow and wind). A little slow on the reload, wonder why? Thank you aneat, it's a fun Xmas present to myself.:Fire:

does it use a primer to propell the pellet? I used to shoot primers out of my .177 cal pellet rifle(they explode when they hit something hard- never tried on a soft target might pop then also)small rifle works if you have a fast air rifle small pistol if its not. small pistol in high power rifle= pop in barrel[smilie=1:

I saw some at a gunshow a while back also. An old man had made hundreds of them in different cal casings.
