I was wondering if there is a gas check version of the RCBS 270 SAA boolit? One of my .45 Colt rifles really likes that weight boolit.

I don't know why you would need a gc? I run 45-70 to 1500fps w/ a plain base bullet.

One reason is I want one, LOL and I also will be using them in my .454 Rifle.

It's not offered with a gascheck. There are other molds you can get that should be close to what you want.

Thanks bhn22, I have looked all over the net and couldn't find any with a check but was hoping I had missed it somewhere. I am wanting something more than the 255 gr. but not quite 300 gr. I like the looks of the gas checked version of the TLC 454-290 but it is a special order with Lee $175.00(setup fee) + mold+ shipping and NOE doesn't have that one in their inventory yet and Carolina Cast has some health problems and won't be back in commission till later in the year and a mold almost never comes up for sale, at least I haven't seen one.

For a whole lot less than LEE and far, far better quality I would contact Tom at Accurate Molds and tell him what you want. You'll have it in a couple of weeks exactly as you specify.

cbrick, Thanks for the site address, I will call him.

Bigslug, I'm thinking that one or the 275G or 275H maybe.

Speer has data in their reloading manual for the RCBS 270-SAA in the 454. Shouldn't be a problem with the right size and alloy....

How about a plain base gas check? I use the MP 270 SAA for my 460 xvr and I got the gas checks for around $20/k from a member here. They are made from a rockstar drink can which is aluminum. I tried these for a 1400 fps load. I haven't tested enough to say there is no leading and I need to clean the gun right now.

Thats the boolit I shot myself with!!

Mountian molds will make you anything you want, and has very nice high quallity moulds.
