View Full Version : Water Transfer Camo On 500 Smith & Wesson

I am pondering sending the 2 soon to be aquired 500 Smith & Wesson's off to have them done in"Ridge Ghost" camo pictured below. I am having reservations though after shooting thousand of gas checked 44 mag bullets through my 629 DX and the clean up aspect of how well the camo will clean up? Those of you that shot cast bullets know the the residue is quite nasty and hard to remove from stainless steel.
I am just not real happy with shiny or metalic guns.

This is the same camo that is used on your higher price scale shotguns and rifles.

The stuff sure is pretty but I can't answer to how well it holds up.
I have killed many, many deer with my shiny revolvers and have yet to spook one. I quit worrying about it.

That looks great! Dont't know how well it will hold up. I've seen old rugers where a leather holster has actually worn away part of the steel. I'll bet that finish is more durable than blueing. After reading through the site it sounds pretty non-removeable if they have to sand the gun.

Please let us know how much it costs to color the S&W.:Fire:

What??? Why did you abandon this idea. It looks great!

I was cursing you under my breath for showing me another must have item. I was even starting to shop for :Fire:a new gun to do this to.

Did you find out if they would even do it?

If so how much $ to paint the 500smith?

They can do anything you want. They did two compound bow for the wife and I in Prairie Ghost. They look great.:-D
