A friend of mine wants to sell his GP-100 and asked my help. I searched on Gunbroker for the current price and ran across the neatest looking grip set. The seller called them "snakeskin", but they looked like fishscale checkering, I've only seen "fishscale checkering" once in person...on a European Rifle at a gunshow....cost way more than I could afford.
ANYWAY, the seller had a starting bid of $80 and a 'buy it now' price of $90.
I almost bid...
then I did a google search for "GP100 grip snakeskin"
BOOM !!!
Altamont is first up, $44 for the exact same grip set.

So I ordered a new set from the Manufacturer, should look awesome on my Super Redhawk.
The Lesson: always always always do a search.

Those are nice looking grips, I think I will have to get some for my SRH too.

I truely believe grips/balance & overall "feel" of a firearm short or long is a personal preference.
The scalloped grips are an artistic addition for sure , BUT for shooting I prefer smooth as I reset the web of my hand .

The Grips arrived on Friday, and mounted them today. They are a little darker than I'd like, but I like the feel...can't wait to try them out.

I have two different Ruger SRH, bought used, neither one came with the original wood insert type rubber grips, they both have the Hogue as pictured (unattached), and I should keep them.

Does it feel a little smaller than the Hogues?

I thought it would, but it doesn't. Feels about the same, minus the finger grooves.
