...and everything was dumped on the workshop floor. 600 bullets that were headed for the core seating press. The jackets were lubed, the cores had been lovingly stuffed into each, the radio was playing, and the cat jumped out from under the bench. Everything went flying. I have known for a long time that cats were evil things. She must have got in when I was moving lead from the back porch into the shop. Is anyone thinking Chinese for supper and needs a cat?

I just finished separating the jackets and cores because they need to be washed after lying on the floor. Everything has been rewashed and the cores are in the ultrasonic as I type.

:dung_hits_fan: Time for a coffee while the magic of ultrasonic waves washed away the grit.

Check the Swappin/Sellin boards, see if anyone needs guitar strings.

Everything has been rinsed, cleaned and is now drying. I told the wife how I was going to test this latest batch of bullets. She was not impressed.

Yes, well indoor at least there is. I am thinking Airsoft may have a use in my gun room after all.

Last year local preserve we bird hunt ran out of birds. We asked him if he would put out some cats.
He said no because he was afraid the hawks would get em.
Told him we could shoot faster than that. Still no go.

I like cats, I just can't eat a whole one.
Or you could paint it orange and yell PULL!

Be careful of what you say there is a kid near here that is out under $15000 bond for killing a cat that he said was sick.He threw it up in the air and shot it with # 6 shot.Cruelty to a animal.

But we don't know the circumstances with the kid. I DO know the circumstances with the cat, my workshop and the bullet trays! As near as I can figure, he threw the cat into the air. I threw bullets into the air. :)

I don't want to have cats but have in the past. I'm betting as all your ammo went flying the cat scooted a little ways off, stopped and started licking it's shoulder in utter disdain for all the fuss you were making. Have to sort of admire a 12# critter that has the attitude you mess with me and I will take on all 200# of you and mess you up in 1.3 seconds with no mercy. Then scamper someplace and dare you to come after it. Of course our last cat chased medium sized dogs and small children so YMMV.

Rather have my cat around than a **** eating dog. My cat doesn't bark & wake up the neighbor like his dog wakes me when I'm on graveyards trying to sleep during the day. Come to think of it, damn dog barks whenever I'm trying to sleep.
Big difference in the two animals. The dog sees you as his lord & master, his faithful friend. The cast sees you as the hired help.

My son had big lump on his chest next to his neck the Doctor said it was from a cat scratch.
He had to cut the lump open insert a medicated strip to pull out the infection.
All because my SON picked up a stray cat in the yard to pet.
I am no cat lover but I don’t want to see someone’s pet mistreated or abused.

Agreed... Use the proper caliber to do the job quickly and efficiently.

Dogs Rule! At least until someone breeds cats to help with hunting, herding, search and rescue, and bomb detection. Yep dogs bark (but always for a reason) and sometimes stick a wet snow covered snout right in your face. I can get over that in a heart beat for a friend.

Proof that the dog is mans best friend:

Leave a dog outside in the rain for a few hours. When you open the door to let him in, he will wag his tail and be grateful and excited to be back inside with his master.

Leave a Cat outside in the rain for a few hours. When you open the door to let him in all you get is a go-to-he!! look

I live in the country. We have cats to control the mouse population. I wish that there was another way. I use poison too, but I have a couple of younger grandkids and worry that they will find it when they are exploring.

Today, I spent the afternoon weighing bullets. Nothing was dumped out of the trays today.

I made a couple thousand 65 grainers, and the weight spread is 64.7 to 65.2 grains. I like to group them so that they are no more than 0.4 of a grain. This batch will be split into two however - 64.7 to 64.9 gr. and 65.0 to 65.2 gr. The groups don't get bigger until the weight difference exceeds 0.6 grains, but it's hard to convince anyone of that. :)

I sprayed some stuff from the pet store around the door to my shop. The cats come close to it, sniff the air and leave. For now, the workshop is cat free.
