Went out today in the snow storm wind blowing standing on ice. But as promised a report as to how the MC shoots. More pics to follow. Shot some jacketed 158 and 38 sp.

Not knocking anything as you say it is cold out. Have you slugged that GP yet? At 10 yards it should clover leaf. I had to tinker with mine a little but it had a LOT of tinkering done before I got it.
You might try a double coat when tl'ing. Also cylinder may be a bit on the large size. Have seen that more on sw than the Rugers.

I'm sure the gun is capable that's about all I can do on a day like that. Mostly just answering a question as to if it shoots to point of aim with that load.

I am mosy interested in the results as I am looking at one for an allaround belt gun.

I really like the gun. Don't know that it's that much better than a good old Security Six or Service Six. But it's purty to look at.

For all the machining they did on this gun (lowering the sights, beveling the exterior of the cylinder, cutting a target crown) I don't understand why they could not cut it for moonclips. They are marketing it as a competition gun for IDPA/USPSA (notice the Miculek style grips???). I'm willing to bet that most people who buy this gun (and use it for the reasons Ruger is marketing it) will have it sent out to Pinnacle Custom and have the cylinders cut for 686 moonclips.

I've been thinking about it myself

Must be me. I don't understand why we are discussing moon clips for a .357 mag. A 45ACP, OK, but a

Because it is designed for competitions where faster reloads can make the difference between winning and losing a match. Speedloaders suck. Always have, always will.

Other than that, I really think Ruger has a winner with this one!

161,

Did you get an extra front sight with yours? I see where people say the gun comes with 2, but I only got one when I bought mine today.

How do you like the Novak rear sight on the Match Champion as compared to the adjustable sights on the regular GP100?

I like everything about this gun. Novak sight is rock solid and easy to see. Been shooting the gun off an on as weather allows. Groups are shrinking. It's a keeper.

Everytime I say, "I have enough guns. I'm all done buying."

Then they come out w/ something like this! AND you enablers give me good, 'real deal' reviews (not gun rag gush).

Alright, *sigh*, what's the street price on this one? Who actually has them for sale?

Has anyone checked the single and double action weight-of-pull w/ a guage?

Enablers! Mumble, mumble...

Looked at one of these yesterday. Before that I was completely satisfied with my standard 4 inch stainless GP100, now I really want one of these.

Went out yesterday with a pocket full of the LEE WC TL 3.2 of Red Dot. Spent about 30 minutes just cutting sticks off that were sticking out of the snow. A few took more than one shot. ;)
