Basically for what Murphy says....it is fun. More fun than a human being should be allowed to have. If you are willing (and able) to go through the bs to own full auto stuff. it is the way to really enjoy your afternoon at the range.
Casting has opened up a whole new area for shooting submachine guns for me. 9mm, 45 and 380 can now be cast, loaded and shot in sufficient volumes to enjoy the activity....I mean REALLY enjoy the activity. It used to be that you would buy a couple of boxes ammo, or maybe a case of 1000 rounds (that was when surplus 9mm was $100/1000).
Now I can shoot a lot more for a lot less. Full auto is the ultimate fun of shooting. Well, maybe howitzers or tanks might be more fun.
A MAC 380 at some 1400 rounds per minute is a screamingly fast gun to shoot. The 9mm MAC is a bit slower at about 1000 rounds per minute. M16's are a blast to shoot. The UZI is virtually indestructable. The S&W 76 has a nice slower rate of fire and is very controllable.
If you ever have a chance to shoot a machine gun, take it. It really IS fun.

Back in the 80's a friend of mine had some modified rifles, a mini 14 and an AK-47. Both were illegal full auto that I got to shoot a few times. Total blast to shoot but way to expensive for my blood and MN laws don't allow much for full auto.
