Redding #2 Scale

I have one that I have had for 40 + years.
Looking at the new ones on the brownells web site they still have a redding #2 except it has a magnetic dampener.
Is it possible to add the dampener to mine?
Hate buying a new scale just for the danmpener if I can do an upgrade instead.

If it is built like any RCBS dampened scale you need different parts on the scale. Firstly is a different balance beam to work with a magnet that is in a machined recess on the beam pointer end of the scale framework. In short I would look at a dampened scale to see if you really want to try going down this road of reworking a good scale to begin with.Robert
