Just got into casting a little over a month ago. My uncle gave me some sticks of old (probably 30 yrs old or more) bullet lube. It is lithium based bullet lube, made by Choate Machine Co. It is wrapped in the original foil that it came from the factory in. My question, being a novice, is this. Is this type of lube considered suitable for casting and does the age of it have an effect on how well it does it's job? Thank You for any info.

I have at least a dozen sticks of ancient lube that works fine.
If there's any doubt, after runnin through the luber/sizer, finish off with a JPW/LLA wash, and go shoot.

If it will go in your luber, it should work just fine.

Choates bullet lube was the famous "Lithibee". It's really good stuff. As long as it's not all dried up, go ahead and use it.

I have a few tubes left of micro lube and some others that are old and they work well in the luber.

I should have probably added that I would faint dead away if the Lithibee were unusable. It would be nearly impossible for the stuff to dry out in any way.
