Rear site for a DP 1859 Sharps

Can anyone recommend a good rear site for a Pedersoli ‘59 sharps? I wanted to know what would work for both target shooting and hunting.

At what range do you expect to do your target shooting?

For closer range target and hunting This MVA (http://www.montanavintagearms.com/133_windgauge.html) is what I'd get. Going out to BPCR silhouette distances I'd move up to a mid range Soule. You may get sticker shock though... Quality sights like these do not come cheap.

I expect to be shooting under 500 yrds, more like 2-300.

i have that 1400 yard buckhorn tip up sight on one of my guns with a california blade in front. it can be used for long distance and the buckhorn is good for 100 yard shooting. brownells and buffalo arms sells them . fits a commom 3/8 dovetail.
