Buckshot was good enough to HP my old 311284 for me, and did one whale of a job I can tell you. Used to shoot a lot of 284 in an old Springfield over 20-22 gr. of 2400. This mold drops a blt at .314, and I just ran my first batch, H20 quenched, Lars Lubed, and sized to .313 with my alloy. Now that said, am looking for loads to play with for 30-30, 308, 06, and 7.62x54R. Would like loads that would run at least to 1600 fps. Don't know about the Mosin, and probably won't be able to load with this blt. due to throat, but will see. Any how, if anybody out there has some tried and trues with the 284 and any of these cals. I sure would appreciate hearing from you.
I thank in advance all who respond to this thread!

1Shirt, I've been playing with that bullet lately, but not extensively. I have had some great luck so far with 24.0 grains of IMR 4227 in my two 03A3s. I don't know how fast their going because I don't have a chorny yet, but I'd say there in the neighborhood. 12.0 grains of Unique was also a real good 50 yard load, but I'm pretty sure it's not going 1600 fps. My nine year old likes that powder puff load. I don't have any 2400 or Red Dot right now, but those two are going to be tested soon. Maybe I shouldn't have admitted that, it's probably a sin to not have any 2400 on hand. My mould's dimensions are not all that impressive, .2995 on the nose etc. But, I sure haven't had any trouble getting it to shoot. Wish I could help you more on some of the other calibers. Good luck.

I have a 311284HP and it's a shooter. I've always been partial to theold Frank Marshall load of 21.0 grains of 4759 in the 06.

Last ones I chronographed gave 1749 FPS./beagle
