That is one area that I have no idea about . The ones I have picked up on the range at Friendship are about 45.
The NMLRA field rep from Minnesota shoots that game, PM me and I will give you his contact info. It seams one of the guys that post on the black powder cartridge part of the forum shoots slug at Phenoix.

I shoot 2 piece .485 (650 grain) and .69 (1750 grain). There are some knowledgeable people on net. Try also historicshooting.com there is a slug gun section there

Kenl,
Are you talking about the old Lyman two piece bullet molds they sold years ago where you cast a harder alloy for the base and a softer one for the nose? They were to be used for hunting so you could drive the bullet faster. The softer front part was inserted and epoxied into the harder cup shaped base to get mushrooming on game.

They are a slug cast in two sections, one part hard and the other soft. The ones I have picked up have a section that is smaller and fit inside the softer rear section then swaged togather. This is a pure target game.
