I would like info as to where to buy or download short range (max 50 yds) targets for NM service rifle practice.
Thanks.

I know they make reduced 600 yard targets for 100 yard shooting but I have never heard of them being reduced for 50 yards.

Being a cheap b******d, I use inventory dots from the office supply store and the scrap paper from the office copier.

I found what I needed at <6mmBR.com> under service rifle basics.

Is there a military target with the 300yard zero set to 25 or 50 yards? That would be a helpful tool (POI is zeroed for 300yards if correct POA at 25 yds is used). I am not a rifle shooter but this would seem to be a more useful tool than simply reducing the target.

A 600 yard reduced to 100 yard target is awesome for position practice.

I recollect, probably incorrectly, a target we used in the USN at 25 yards to practice.

There were so few of us qualified in long arms at my duty station that we had to travel for a normal rifle range to qualify but we used the pistol range for practice. We had a target with a box below the reduced center that we used as the POA and it produced a reasonably accurate/ zeroed 300 yard POA-POI. It may have been a locally produced item but I think it had an inventory number on it.

It seems that this would be relatively easy to reproduce with today's ballistic programs and printers and, unless you like treking out to 100,200, or 300 yards, it may be a useful practice target. It would not help with reading the wind and other long range skills, but it would help with practice.
