Very impressive. The step by step photos are really good. You have considerable talents, not unlike JMorris, who once studied with Edison or Tesla. I am very much in awe.

Roy,

If my memory serves me right, I saw some sort of propane adapter hosing that might work for you in the camping stove section at Walmart. You might want to go and look at what they have.

Your set up looks real nice and seems to run very smoothly. Love the simple efficiency of it.

Hi Dave,

I have two Coleman propane extension hoses, but they are stiff and very heavy and pull the torches out of alignment. The propane bottles are ungainly and need some type of support for their weight. If I knew more about messing with propane, I'd simply use some brass tubing and "hardwire" the torch heads with some type of quick disconnect............

If you look in tha album of my first build here.

http://s121.photobucket.com/user/jmorrismetal/library/annealer?sort=6&start=all&page=1

At the botom of the first page there is a photo of the male torch fittings cut from the top of empty (and shot, you don't want one to blow up while cutting it) propane cans with 1/8" NPT female adapter welded to them.

With the adapters I plumed both to a single manifold with a quick detach for the line going to the propane tank. That can be seen on the 2nd page of the album.

The very last photo on the 3rd page shows the parts I removed from the torches to work with my adapters. The line from my 20 lb tank to the manifold has no regulator in it as the torches need full tank pressure to work correctly.

J Morris, Since I posted that article I have dozens of folks that want to contact you to purchase a disc. Are you still selling them? How can folks contact you?

I'm confused and know near nothing about gas distribution. If you are using a 20 pound tank without a regulator, why do you need to remove those parts from the torch? If I hook a hose directly to my 20 pound tank with and then to the torch it seems to work perfectly......?

Is your brake line tubing restricting gas flow?

Thanks!

I found a place that sells all the propane type adapters you will ever need!

They have the adapter for the torches.

This place has fitting also

I have one of those garages that if you look long enough you can find anything you need for any type of project!....

Looking through some old camping equipment I found a "Propane Tree". This is a pole with three propane outlets for hooking up a camp lantern, cook stove and some other propane appliance.

I then found two propane hoses. One was a direct fit up.....Male disposable connector to female disposable connector.

The other hose had a connector on one end for the torch but the other was to be connected to a 20 pound cylinder. A bit more looking and I found a brand new adapter, in the bag! AMAZING!

Everything works great without having to disassemble the torches.

Here's a quick video:
