How about a thread of recovered PC boolits? I know a lot of people are PC'ing now and trying out new and different ways of doing it, but maybe we all can't recover our rounds. But those that can, perhaps can post pics so we know what's happening to them after they leave our guns!

Here's mine so far.
-DRY TUMBLE with HF Red, bake at 400 for 20 minutes
-COWW lead, air cooled
-sized to .452 only after cooking
-shot from a Kimber 3" 45acp
-1st 2 pics were shot into a 5 gallon bucket filled with pillow fiber
-3rd pic was shot into a mostly frozen dirtpile

Is the powder still in the rifling grooves?
Any leading?

Great idea, but sorry, unfortunately I can't really add TRUE info for that at this time, as I shot both PC and conventional lube bullets during this trip. I didn't think I ever had leading in my barrel... until I just now took some close up pics! I'm guessing at the top of the clean pic is leading??? I always thought it would look worse if I had "it"... but perhaps I do have small amounts. I didn't see any Red PC buildup in the barrel, just normal dirt from powder/lube I image.

Accuracy, for me was fine for these. 50 shots into a bucket but only at 10 yards, standing up shooting. -Brad

I've posted this before, here it is again. Launched from a Colt Gold Cup-
45ACP, 230gn., round nose, ES black powder coated, sized .451, shot through 2 feet of red rubber mulch hitting a steel plate.
The PC has taken on the tint of red from the mulch but is hanging on pretty damn well.
Alloy ?- Some lead and a little tin, I don't worry much about it. I do make sure my bullets are properly sized for my barrels. I shoot ES PC'd bullets out of four guns. None show any signs of leading or wear.

The picture below is of recovered 38 special cast bullets shot into a stack of dry paper.

The alloy was soft, the bullets did not retain much of the powder coat due to the large amount of mush rooming.

The is still some powder coat, these bullets were coated with an ES gun and the color was white.
