Get a "Keith" from Mihec!!!!!!!
None any better! Group buy not long ago (I've got 1).....he may have some left....
Keith on Lyman's mold:
" the grease groove was rounded, the forward driving band was too narrow, and the meplat was too small (.235”, 57% of the bullet diameter, in fact it was smaller than the meplat he had designed into his .38 SWC some 30 years earlier!"
The H&G design #258, produces a 220 grain SWC, that has a full-width and full-diameter forward driving band, a “square-cut” lube groove and a meplat that measures a full .275” (67% of the bullet diameter).

I've also got the RCBS version....IMHO, the Mihec is the better mold.

I have numerous .41 cal bullet molds....frankly the Lee 90330 (195 SWC) works very nicely. I use loads a@ 1,100 fps velocities in my Model 57...8 grains of Unique. Very accurate and Lee molds are affordable. If you don't like it you can always sell it.

Is the lee a tumble lube design? I'm going to try it in a ruger Blackhawk 4 5/8 and I guess I don't have anything against lee molds, but that's what I started out with for my ruger 45 colt and I had terrible luck. Now to be fair that was also my first try at casting and it certainly could have been operator error, I like the price of the lee but if it doesn't work, just as well wait and get a better one.

Lyman "Keith" mold was not designed by Elmer, nor was he even consulted about it. Lyman took some of his design characteristics, made a mold, and stuck his name on it. I believe the H&G 258 was the bullet Keith designed, after Lyman had already released their turkey, with his name on it. For 41 mag, I'd probably have LBT, Mountain Molds, or Accurate make me a SWC PB design that doesn't weight over about 220-230 grains.

Is the Mihec A copy of the hg 258? That does sound interesting do you call them direct or is there someway to look at them on here?

I love this 196gr. WC

BigNutt, the 195 Lee is not tumble lube. It runs 200 with my metal. I use it in two S&Ws a Ruger and an 1894 Marlin. Shoots very well in all with 8 or 8 1/2 grains of Unique with LBT Blue sized to .410

I have the Lee 210 gr SWC that is a tumble lube bullet that works very well out of my Ruger Blackhawk and my Taurus 415. I've just used them for a plinking bullet, I haven't pushed them hard. I have other bullets for that.

Yes Miha's is a #258 copy....see MP-Molds on the sponsor page.

I use the RCBS 41-210-SWC for my magnum loads and the Lee TL 410-210-SWC for my mid range loads mostly because I shoot a lot of them and the mould comes as a 6 holer. I also use the no longer made Lee TL410-175-SWC for plinking/target loads.

Larry, Lee has dropped all the 41 mag boolit molds except the 410-195-SWC and the 410-210-SWC TL, both plain based and only in 2 cavity.

Bignutt, I use the Lee 410-210-SWC TL in my Ruger SBH Hunter. Does well for light loads at 1,000 fps to loads up to 1,350 fps. I am coating them with the Hi-Tek Coating, not Lee Alox.
I also have the SAECO 220gr truncated cone that weighs 220grs with a gas check. Very accurate even at long ranges.

I've only one mold for the .41 and that's the RCBS 41-210-SWC. I've found it quite satisfactory with different alloys and at velocities between 800 fps to 1300 fps.

My RCBS 41-210-SWC has a narrow front band, I prefer the front band to be wider.....are your RCBS's the same??
