I've been searching through every book and online that I can get my hands on trying to find a load for a 70 grain bullet out of a 256 win mag marlin 62 and I can't find anything.

can anyone out there help me? is it possible I am the first person to try this bullet in this case? LOL doubt it!
that's why I'm asking!

even quickload doesn't list it as a possibility! hoping to use lil gun, H335 (if possible) or IMR4198 maybe, but at this point I'll take any load!
thanks in advance!

I've got a Speer #7 with load data for a 60 gr. Pipre Point and an 87 gr. Spitzer.
I can scan that and pass it on to you.

Is there something special about loading the .256? I seem to remember reading a book that was written about the time it came out and the writer claimed that it could not be satisfactorily loaded by a handloader, but didn't elaborate why?

Do you know the twist of your barrel? My barrel does not like bullets over about 85 grains. I have tried some cast, but the Sierra 70 grain is an excellent ground hog bullet with 10X powder. My barrel is a 14" contender, topped with a Burris scope.
