I happen to know wjl555 personally, having done business with him numerous times. He's great to do business with and he backs everything he sells.

rest assured he's not up to hanky panky with his auctions.

Yes, Bill's a fine guy. I'll bet he is as amazed as any of us just how high that set of handles went. But then I got the "fever" and went pretty good on the Harvey half-jacket mould, so who am I to speak....

(Glad I got it, though; now I hope I have enough shekels left to get that Ideal No. 5 Micrometer powder measure that he has up for tomorrow.)

There is no implication that wjl555 is dishonest----He's the seller---the bidders ran the price up. I'm just amazed at the price of the handles.

It's a good augury for the future. When we retire, we can just sit in our penthouses with a julep and a laptop and auction off the odd top punch, sprue plate, mould handle set or lead dipper the way people nowadays clip coupons off tax-free bonds.

Maybe I should start saving my old bullet lube boxes...
