Guys,

I have an urge to mess with the Lee 113 Gr FNGC in one of my 7.62x25s for some reason. I currently shoot 93 gr and 100 Gr, but would like to try these. I would like to use Unique as the powder and can not find much for info. My thoughts are to start at or around 4 Gr unless one of you guys have a better idea. I do not think that will cycle the action on my CZ52s or Tokarevs, but I might be surprised. Thanks.

I do not recommend any bullet in 7.62x25 in which the bullet base protrudes below the neck, because base upset deforms the bullet base to lock into he shoulder cone causing a Kaboom! high pressure spike.

I thought of that, but was thinking that it would be like a rifle, in that a lot of them go past the neck as well. With a gas check, the base shouldn't deform too bad, but maybe that's the fly in the ointment with this idea in this caliber.

That Lee mold has provided accurate, reliable ammo in my CZ 52, and Polish TT 33. I am out of town for several weeks, so I don't have my notes. I used an alloy of BHN15, no gas checks. Neither pistol would chamber a boolit much over. 309 diameter. The Cz52 slugged at .309. The TT 33 averaged. 312. A load with ACC #7 did great in both pistols, far more accurate than the surplus I have. I have tried the Lyman 76 grain, and 85 grain molds with great success in the CZ 52. Not so great in the Polish pistol. The Lee 113 grain boolit must have stabilized with its longer length in the TT 33. I have fired a hundred rounds of the 113 grain out of each pistol, mild recoil, no pressure indications, and consistently accurate.

Thanks. Now that I know it is possible, I'll keep on working on it.

The fly in this soup for me was losing virtually all of the brass that was shot. I'm not willing to load down to save brass when I can save both the brass and additional moneys by not shooting that gun (CZ52) and cartridge. The issue is more like - would the usefullness of the gun/cartridge take back seat to economics? Safe queen time.
