View Full Version : Hollywood Super Turret, a Perspective Comparing This Beast

When guys unfamilar with Hollywood Reloading Tools would see my Hollywood Senior Single Stage Press, they would say "man that is beefy".

Then they would see the Model B Turret or the wee bit taller Turret Tool and say " Whooooaaa!! That thaanngg's a Monster!!"

Now what are they going to say as that "Monster" looks like Minnie Me next to the Super Turret?

After over a year in storage, I have pulled these presses out finally.

Here is a perspective how they all compare in size.

Gives a entire new meaning to the phrase "Get a bigger hammer"!

We proudly salute this superior level of excessive over engineering!

Brass had to be a hell of a lot tougher in the old days!

Love the reloading porn!

Man I could just keep going!

Lubedude,

Keep me in-mind when you decide to sell that Super. I lust after one and posted an ad for one on various reloading sites, but never got a nibble. I am even willing to trade a NM M1 Garand I own for one.

LUBEDUDE;

Nice collection of Hollywoods, One of the most serious HW collections around. Thank you for sharing. I would think your super Turret would be worth more then one -NM M1- Garand (at auction or for insurance purposes).

What works of art! I wish they would return. The largest one must be 12 stations I bet.

Take care

Lube: You have made it obvious that most of us haven't even gotten started yet.

I feel so ,,,, naked,,,

I would also commend you on your Collection and I can agree totally with your one of "every style" philosophy.

Holly cow that thing cost more than a Super 1050 in todays money. 1959 $237.50 = $1845.08 today.

There was a man at the Glendale Gun Show's in California who sold Hollywood presses. Looked like they were of new manufacture. One of the other gun show attendees was critical of there indexing.
Curious if anyone has installed auto indexing on one?

I could use a nose count on how many folke would buy one of these if I decided to make them.
They would wind up somewhere in the $1500.00 neighborhood, dependent upon the volume of the production run.
It would be fun.
Thanks, Mark

Snowschooze,

I got your PM. I am definitely interested in getting one, but am also interested in how you will make them. The frame needs to be either iron or steel (no aluminum), and the other parts made of hardened steel, just like the originals. Do you intend on sand casting the frame?
