Alright everyone here's one for ya cast load for 300 win mag

Well all I think I may be getting my first magnum rifle closing the deal tonight it a savage 111 300 win. Mag. I was just sitting here looking at load data and realizing there would be a good possibility I could shoot cast out of this cartridge. So here we go again please share with me if you have shot cast out of a 300 win mag how'd it go and what's your load data

think gas volume and not case volume you'll have no problems coming up with loads.

I find the lee 312 bullet sized to .395 with 18 grains of red dot was the best load I could come up with

In the lyman bullet casting manual there is a load with h4895 that propels a 157 grain bullet to 2800 fps but when I tried it the bullet came a part in the barrel which was like buckshot

What twist rate is your bbl? Just curious if it might have been an rpm thing. I'm trying to, learn all this stuff. H4895 carrys me to 2400 fps with good accurracy in a 1:14 twist and 200 gr. boolit but opens up groups around 2500 fps. in my 35 whelen.

Not only that, but that sizer was hard to find.
