CH Press - Were doing good - on a roll

His question is does he want to buy Jackets or roll your own - which is going to be cheaper?

Is that press a Veg-o-matic?
Sorry - I meant Swag-O-Matic.
If so he's going to want half jackets, not full jackets.

And a Lewis lead remover.

I don't think the press will make rifle bullets.
that 30 die would be for making half jacket 30 carbine bullets.

I have one and some of the dies, it handles pistol bullets okay if you have the correct core weight and jackets.
there is no heavy duty swaging going on here.
using pistol brass for a case would really be stretching things if you have to size them up more than .001.

Looks like the preservative oil has dried up a little - he's going to soak in some Mineral Spirits to clean 'em up.

Tell ya what, looks to be more there than he can handle. Just box'em up and send them to me. I'll put'em to use immediately. Got any 30 cal (308) rifle dies?

Tell him to take a look at Corbins website, couple of downloadable books there to get him an idea of what he has and how to use it.
In the last picture I am seeing different punches for the base as well as a swc and rn punch.

Well hell at todays prices he just scored atleast 6 grand! Now don't tell us he never shoots! Nor has any of the calibers for the dies! That would be so wrong.

He's never swaged (I haven't since the early '80's). But he's not huge into pistol shooting and looking at the price of jackets and figuring as much as he gets to shoot, he may as well buy 'em instead of make 'em.

Well, if he decides to sell some of that stuff,, I may be interested in the 44 & 45 cal stuff.

Thanks Artful for posting these for me, I picked them up in an estate sale last month with some other reloading gear. I had him come over and help me with pricing and what not as I'm not very familiar with swaging eqiupment. The swaging stuff I am probably going to sell all of it as it really doesn't interest me. I do cast for my 38 S&W and some gas check 308 but that is as much as I dabble in raw lead everything else has a copper shell. Mostly right now I am trying to price things out and then figure out where to sell it.

I know the CH dies are from the CH company before current owners took over. You can tell from the smaller diamond pattern in the knurling. I always found the older CH dies to be pretty darn good.

I have the same lead wire cutter. It works pretty good and fast!

Looks like a heck of a score!

I have that same 224 Corbin swage die set. In fact, the same person that wrote the die description on the outside of those boxes did the same on mine. Same handwriting and all. Pretty cool! Nice haul!

What would be a fair price to ask for this stuff? I'm not really interested in keeping the above items, they came with other equipment that I wanted.

Sent you a PM interested in your core cutter. Congrats good score. I feel you on using the stuff. I spent a small fortune to be able to make those little brass beauties. And it's been worth every penny to me.

Looks like he wants to sell it off - I'll be posting in the sale section this week.
trying to decide if set price or make it an auction on each set.
