Copied and pasted it worked. That is among my top three aircraft of all time. It is a real blue collar work horse, down and dirty.

The Gods of the Air Farce want to rid themselves of this airplane because the future war looks to be an Asian one; I guess they think that the Chinese have no armored forces.

Thanks to Nixon for trying to be friends with the commies and Bill Clinton for giving the trigger to them and "o" for leaning over(bowing)to kiss their rears.

I grew up three miles from that ANG base. Martin Aircraft (Glenn L. Martin) built their bombers there during WWII and the beginning of the Cold war. The runway is a mile long so even the B52's can land there. It's quite a sight to see the Warthogs shoot straight up after take off and the whine of the turbines are even better. I spent many hours fishing near by in the lagoon and watching the coolest aircraft a kid could imagine. Here's a few shots of the sea plane ramp.

I believe at one time before WWII, the runway in Essex was the longest in the country. The begining of the runway is in the upper right of the top photo and it goes all the way to the water.

Lets sincerely hope we never "Really" need them again, but with "O" in there I am glad to know they are at least available. The way things look now I really think we will be glad they are still in service, that is if we are not sold to China.
